This was the first location I designed. I was able to come in before they opened for the first time, so I had the opportunity to select all of the furniture and design the layout of the lounge area. We leaned towards colorful pops of teal and salmon with lime green and hot pink accents that highlighted the brand colors throughout the space. We got to be creative with a vintage green sport car that the team bought for us to fill with flowers and disco balls. I love that Rooftop always has some dynamic elements like that to fill out the space and have fun moments for taking photos. We also created two 8x8’ photo backdrop walls, one which featured a custom-painted, intricate geometric design by me and a neon sign with the icons from the signature “peace, love and great film” slogan. The other photo backdrop was inspired by Alice in Wonderland. We featured a huge variety of flowers seen in the movie - poppies, lilies, anything that had an interesting and somewhat psychedelic shape. We even found a cute little white bunny to add to the Alice world. Finally, we put together a photo moment in the entrance with a custom neon sign that says “Greetings from Rooftop Cinema Club” and vertical lines of clustered tropical flowers. We always love seeing how we can challenge ourselves to make each flower design feel unique .
